Rest up
Formed in 2021, Rest Up—a high-energy trio from Angers—quickly began writing music and hitting the stage, eager to experience the thrill of live performance. After releasing two well-received EPs, they’re now gearing up to unveil their first full-length album, Real Sensations, on September 26.
Once again collaborating with Daniel Fox (of Gilla Band), the group had the chance to record at Echo Zoo Studios in Eastbourne, England—a space also frequented by bands like Lambrini Girls.
Real Sensations maps out the emotional landscape of the musicians, capturing moments of discovery, improvisation, and even missteps. The album blooms with experimentation, weaving together themes of hope, romance, and acceptance.
With their signature art-punk edge, Rest Up charges forward in a controlled yet carefree manner. Their sound has evolved—more assured in its vulnerability, more refined in its execution. The frenetic urgency of their earlier work gives way to textured experimentation and quieter passages, deliberately crafted for the live experience.
In the meantime, the trio has caught the attention of Cèpe Records (France) and EXAG’ Records (Belgium). Meanwhile, Wapa continues to book their tours, as Rest Up remains thirsty for gigs and new encounters.

Les Vagues is een punkband uit de omstreken van Bilzen-Hoeselt, ontstaan uit enorme frustratie door alles en iedereen. Hun lawaai ontsnapt stilaan de half onder water staande repetitiekelder en laat steeds een spoor van chaos achter. Waar het hen brengt weten ze nog niet, maar goesting ontbreekt er allesinds niet.
Enkele hoogtepunten:
Twee passages in "Meurissey" op Radio Willy met Stijn Meuris over 80HD: "Jong en ongebreideld, 80HD van Les Vagues. Hou die in de gaten beste mensen! Lekker groepke..."

Deze heilige viervuldigheid maakt punk/garage rock zoals het bedoeld is: rauw, chaotisch en met een hoop energie. Met hun nog grotere afkeer van muziektheorie spelen ze puur instinctief en met enorme passie (of venijn, afhankelijk van het publiek). Ze willen laten zien dat dit genre nog leeft onder de nieuwe generatie en het zijn attitude nog niet verloren heeft. Of ze nu spelen voor een moshpit of voor de buren die weer geen rustige avond kunnen hebben, entertainen zullen ze.
