SESAM (FR) - 22:15
Born from the encounter of five musicians from the vibrant music scene of the Grand Est region (France), SESAM was formed with a simple yet radical ambition: to unleash their initial jazz influences and blend them with the urgency of post-punk and the density of noise.
The collective is based on a balance of complementary strengths: Emmanuel Abdul, who alternates between guitar and bass; Yacine Belmahi on bass and synthesizer; Mathis Klaine on Rhodes piano; Léo Lévêque on drums; and Marc Stehlin on trumpet and vocals.
From its debut album Modern Voodoo, SESAM distinguished itself with a horizontal approach to composition. There is no leader here, just a five-headed entity that relentlessly manipulates sonic material until it reaches its limits. This organic and original approach quickly garnered them attention from the music scene in the Grand Est region, culminating in a selection for the Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges festival in 2023, where they made a lasting impression with a performance of rare intensity.
After touring extensively in the Grand Est region, and more broadly in France, as well as in Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Spain, the band returned in late 2025 with Good Job, Strong Drug & Bullshit Dream. Recorded in the legendary conditions of La Casamurada studio in Catalonia, this second album marks their transformation. More political, darker, but also brighter in its rage, the album abandons artifice to focus on the essentials: a "Jazz-Punk-Noise" that is experienced as a physical sensation.

Uit een liefde voor vreemde muziek en alles wat geluid maakt, begon een eekhoorn demo's te maken in een hoekje van zijn boom. Een boom overrompeld met drums, (bas)gitaren, synths en ergens daartussen een wat mos om op te slapen. Na een jarenlange, nog steeds lopende, zoektocht en 100tal demo's later, begon er zich dan toch een duidelijker beeld te vormen waar deze muzikale reis heen ging.
Met songs gebaseerd op banale en minder banale dingen uit het leven en samples genomen tijdens het doorkomen van de dag, presenteert het u graag; Machines Are For Weirdos. Een robot samengesteld uit electro/rock/dance/noise met een ambient beschermlaag. Live vorm gegeven door een prachtige band bestaande uit Lander Lampaert, Jesse Vandecaetsbeek, Tuur Geldhof en Sofietje ik bedoel Sybe Versluys.
