Unkle Kook

Unkle Kook was formed in Bologna, Italy, in 2019. Drawing inspiration from surf music, the band's eclectic lineup creates a highly cinematic soundscape—rich in imagery, atmosphere, and emotion. Their music blends soundtrack-like textures with a rock'n'roll spirit that gets audiences dancing, coming fully alive in electrifying live performances, all while maintaining a distinctive sense of irony and playfulness. With reverb-soaked, desert-inspired guitars, a gritty saxophone, and a solid rhythm section, the band delivers an eclectic and immersive sound.

In 2021, Unkle Kook released their debut EP, Surf Beat, through the independent label Brutture Moderne. The six instrumental tracks immediately showcased the band's unconventional approach to the surf genre.

In 2023, they released the single Missing The Fourth, which anticipated their debut full-length album Coming In Bunches. Across its ten tracks, "the rock sound grows sharper, moving from the lightness of surf toward a search for psychedelic textures. It is an anarchic, unconventional record, free from habit and expectations."

Over the years, the band has brought its fiery live show to clubs and festivals across Italy and abroad, performing at two editions of Paolo Fresu's Time in Jazz International Festival, as well as Surfer Joe Summer Festival, Heidelberg Musikstrasse, Color Fest, Tutti Matti per Colorno, and many others.

In 2025, Unkle Kook released the single The Wedding, featuring vocals by Roberto Dellera, as the first preview of their new record. Their second album, FRENZY, was released in April 2026, followed by a promotional tour.
